Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde reponse 1

Author's note:  Upon reading the the first few chapters of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde I really loved the two different sides of the main character so I tried to incorporate this in a poem.

In half of my life I am a normal person
Friendly and kind I’m very average
By day I walk, always having good reason
Until the night where I become more savage

You better run and you better hide
Upon seeing me you’ll know just why

In half of my life there is something evil
An evil that is lurking within my soul
Growing rapidly, into a fiery upheaval
Tearing and dragging me into a hole

You better run and you better hide
Upon seeing me you’ll know just why

This burden is killing me without a doubt
Giving me a life of regret and sin
All I want to do is kick this thing out
Before I can’t control the monster within

You better run and you better hide
Upon seeing me you’ll know just why
